Week 3: Democracy 2 - Return of the one party ballot

Hope everyone had a great convention.  This week is the AGM and by-election, so don't forget to vote for the 3 Abnormal member positions, and please turn up to the AGM.  There's a lot of important things to discuss, including changes resulting from re-ratification and the library.

Monday 20:00 - Boardgames in G/002 + G/013 (and after 21:00 in G/001)
Wednesday 19:00 - Age of Iron in V/119, V/122, V/V123
Thursday 19:00 - AGM in D/L/047
Thursday 20:00 - Social in Derwent Bar
Saturday 19:00 - Changeling in G/001/002/010/013
Sunday 12:30 - Age of Iron in D/L/047
Sunday 24:00 - Deadline for nominations for Abnormal Members for Magic, Boardgames and Wargames - please email us if you wish to stand.

AGM and By-elections: Thursday 8th May in D/L/047

The AGM will discuss:
  • The state of the society library
  • The re-ratification process (which has led to a new constitution)
  • How the society runs socials
  • Choices for the end of term meal
  • Changes to the role of the Abnormal Member for Magic (increasing their oversight to include all card games).

By-election

There are two ways to vote:  Either email your choices between now and Thursday 8th May 18:00 or vote in person at the AGM (D/L/047)
Results will be announced at the social in Derwent Bar at 20:00.

Each position is responsible for introducing new players to their area and organizing the weekly session (as well as any extras they want to run).  The Abnormal members are the go-to for help for other members of the society for help in that area and provide a go-between to advocate for money/time from the main committee.  They are also responsible for storing equipment if needed.
